Hi everyone! I’m Megan Morley. I am from Potomac, Maryland. I have lived in Maryland my whole life. I went to high school at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in D.C. It is an all girls, Catholic high school.  I am a freshman and currently in the Preprofessional Health Studies program. I am hoping to become a Sports Medicine doctor. In high school I played basketball, field hockey, and lacrosse and I love watching football and basketball games. I have an older sister, Colleen. She is a senior at Virginia Tech and is majoring in Marketing. I also have and a Labradoodle dog named Ivy.

In high school I wrote a lot of different types of papers. I wrote descriptive and persuasive essays and research papers. I also wrote argumentative essays, poems, and creative writings. In addition, I wrote compare and contrast essays, informative essays, and literary analyses.  Although I do most of my writing in school, I am also an author outside of school. I post to Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook frequently. I never gave much thought to the fact that the writing I post on these social media platforms could have an impact on other people’s views. I have never blogged before, and I am very excited to start! It will be great to experience a different form of expression when it comes to my writing. Using social media in this class is going to be fun and unlike any other class activities I’ve done before.  Not only is it a fun way to write, but social media is so relevant to our generation. By posting a tweet, status, or picture, you can instantly share your writing with many people. These different social media platforms are such efficient ways to be an author. I am so excited to gain experience with my writing and incorporate social media in this class!
